Find here FAQs about the GITA website's features for individuals.
If you have a question other than what is posted here, please send to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: How do I edit my profile information?
Navigate to 'Manage Profile' under 'My Profile' at right. You may update your profile information by clicking 'Edit Bio'. You may also upload a profile image by hovering over the photo icon and clicking ‘Add Photo’.
To edit features of your member account, including email notification preferences and profile options, navigate to ‘Manage Profile’ on the right menu bar and click ‘Preferences’ under Information and Settings. Also on the 'Manage Profile' screen are a variety of associated options available to members to connect with others, review invoice and dues history, post photo and blog content, review past event attendance and, most importantly, professional development credit history. This latter feature will allow members to track their progress in being awarded the GISP certification, and within the coming days the entirety of GITA’s member database histories will be uploaded to the new database.
Q: Can I change my username and/or password?
Yes, as above, in the 'Edit Bio' area.
Q: Where do I find information on my membership history?
Your member history is visible under 'Membership' on the 'Manage Profile' page.
Q: How do I track my GISP credits?
First, please review the documentation for how the GISP is awarded, summarized here.
Second, navigate to your Professional Development history, under 'Manage Profile'. Here, you may generate transcripts of actions taken towards achieving the GISP. If you have participated in events or have done work that furthers your GISP credentials, please feel free to submit an entry into your Professional Development record by clicking 'Add Entry'.
Please Note: If you have previously belonged to GITA, your activity records will be imported on or about April 1, 2014. If you have need to access your record before this date, please contact email@example.com
Q: How do I find other GITA members?
Please use the search engine built for our Member Directory. You may search by name, geography, company, or group.
By clicking the 'Advanced Search' tab, you may select criteria to filter your search for greater accuracy.
Q: How do I find an interest group, committee or chapter?
Interest groups and committees may be found under 'Search' > 'Groups Directory' on the left menu. Please consult that listing to find the desired group. Chapters may be found on the 'Chapters' page also on the left menu.
All chapters, interest groups and most committees are publicly available to join. To do so, navigate to that group's webpage and click 'Join Group'. For certain of the organization's committees, you must contact the committee chair for access, or contact the site webmaster.
