The EnerGIS 2016 committee is seeking abstracts from geospatial professionals involved in the energy industry. All segments of the industry are welcome to present at EnerGIS, papers focusing on electric, oil, gas, coal, renewables – all are welcome! Additionally wherever your expertise fits in vertically within the industry our attendees would like to hear about your projects whether it be; exploration, production, transmission, distribution, safety or environmental. Submit today!
Join our 4th annual conference in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania (suburban Pittsburgh) May 16 and 17, to share your successes, network and learn about the latest tips and techniques.
EnerGIS funds scholarships, awarded by the GITA Mid-Atlantic Chapter to deserving Geography and GIS students. Students working towards undergraduate or graduate degrees are encouraged to apply for these scholarships! Two grand prize recipients will receive $1000 scholarships and the opportunity to showcase their projects by presenting to the EnerGIS conference. Runner-ups will receive $500 towards their education.
Apply today – students need to be a legal resident and enrolled in a North American institute of higher education, majoring or minoring in the geospatial arts and sciences.
Keynote Speakers Announced:
May 16: Keynoting day one of EnerGIS 2016 is John Pippy CEO of the Pennsylvania Coal Alliance, a trade organization representing the interests of over 300 member companies and 36,500 workers in the coal industry. Prior to joining the Alliance, John served in the Pennsylvania General Assembly for 16 years, serving nine years as Senator, and eight years in the House of Representatives. John is also a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. holding a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering. He holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and served overseas on active duty in Iraq and Kuwait.
May 17: Day two of EnerGIS 2016 will be keynoted by Devon Humphrey, CEO of Flightline Geographics. Devon has spoken at multiple GIS venues including at the ESRI UC in 2014 and the GITA O&G Pipeline Week Conference in 2015. The EnerGIS Committee looks forward to hosting Devon at our conference this year.
