As the capital of the international energy industry, Houston is the natural choice to serve as host city of GITA’s GIS for Oil & Gas Conference. The city is one of the world’s greatest urban centers. While it offers the cosmopolitan flair of the fourth-largest city in the United States, Houston retains the richness of a close-knit, culturally diverse community. A city of great discovery, Houston offers tremendous contrasts with something for everyone, from protected wildlife preserves to the world’s richest rodeo; from prestigious art institutions to the center for space exploration. Houston is a thoroughly international city with a diverse population matched only by Los Angeles and New York. In fact, more than 4.1 million people of more than 100 different nationalities call Houston home.
