The past ten years have seen the petroleum industry experience significant growth, expand the exploratory scope, and suffer public scrutiny over economics and incidents. As a result, this period has also required visionary leaders to develop and implement new answers to old questions and rapidly expanding problems. While GIS was not always the main focus of these revolutionary processes, its development has certainly had a noticeable and valuable impact on them. Panelists will be asked to discuss how their fields have evolved, their role in the evolution, and the role GIS does and will play in the continued development.
