NarrativeThis webinar describes the questionnaire content and provides an overview of responses received to date. Also discussed are the various purposes the questionnaire is intended to serve: establishing an appropriate body of knowledge for applied geodesy; determining the level of support in the geospatial community; identifying areas of interest and existing status of geodetic knowledge; providing guidance on creating and prioritizing educational content; and showing the breadth and depth of the field of geodesy. The questionnaire itself is but a first step. Moving forward will require work, commitment, and cooperation. Success will only be realized through a broad base of committed support across a wide variety of geospatial organizations. As part of that process, AAGS created an online questionnaire at



Michael L. Dennis, RLS, PE is owner of Geodetic Analysis, LLC. His firm provides geodetic consulting and GIS services, including coordinate system design, survey and GIS data integration, planning and processing of control surveys, providing educational seminars, and creation of custom geospatial computer algorithms. Mr. Dennis serves as Chair of the Geodetic Education and Certification Committee of the American Association for Geodetic Surveying and of the Committee on Spatial Data Accuracy in the Utility Engineering and Surveying Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
