Stuck in the office? Out of state conferences too expensive to consider? Tired of co-workers thinking of you only as “that crazy map person”?
There is still time to register for the 2nd Annual Mississippi Geospatial Conference to be held October 16th & 17th on the Gulf Park Campus of USM in Long Beach.
You owe it to yourselves both professionally and personally to take some time and find out what your peers are doing. It is also a fantastic opportunity to either brag about what has been working for you or chronicle the challenges you face in day-to-day efforts. Your family may nod politely when you tell them of your day, but attendees may be able to provide clever work-arounds or point you towards better resources.

Also available will be a no-cost National Hydrography Dataset workshop:
Join us for a free National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) Workshop on Thursday morning, October 16 from 9:00 to 10:30. The NHD represents the surface waters of the country and is useful for hydrography modeling, hydro-related event tracking, and in making pretty maps. It is the hydrography layer shown in the U.S. Geological Survey U.S. Topo maps. This workshop will cover where to access the NHD, an explanation of the data model, the NHD stewardship program, and more. Please RSVP to Dave Arnold, NHD Region Four Partner Support Point of Contact at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 573-465-0027.
Student sponsorships may be available to cover the cost of registration. Please contact Karen Clark to enter your name for consideration: email@example.com
