A Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska GITA regional chapter was officially formed in September 2005. Local GITA members have combined together with the national office to create a chapter that brings value to members in the area. The chapter is focused on being software neutral, technology heavy, and education oriented.

The mission of the Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) is to provide excellence in education and information exchange on the use and benefits of geospatial information and technology in telecommunications, infrastructure and utility applications worldwide.

The vision of the Midwest Regional Chapter is to be the leading information resource and community for anyone in the Midwest who has a vested interest in the use of geospatial information.
